After months of torturous waiting, we finally got to meet baby Teagan when he and Aunt Kenzie came for a visit from Japan. Kenzie has been really good about posting new pictures of Teagan all the time, but it's just not the same as seeing him in person. We were so happy to finally be able to snuggle him, kiss those adorably squishy cheeks, and get to know his fun personality!
Aside from the joy of getting to know my newest nephew, my favorite part was seeing firsthand what a good mommy Kenzie has turned into. She was so good with her own baby, but what impressed me even more was the infinite amount of patience she had for my kids, who were practically smothering her firstborn at every possible moment. Yet she never once lost her cool with my kids. She included them on things, and made them feel special. That meant so much to me.
Lucky for us, Teagan didn't mind the chaos of three wild things running around. He even seemed to like the attention. And boy, did our kids shower the attention on him. Especially Addy. I couldn't keep her away from him for two seconds! Which was fine, most of the time. It was a real problem any time Kenzie tried to feed Teagan, because Teagan wouldn't eat if there was anything else going on around him. And I'm sorry to say that, in this house, there's always something going on, and quite loudly, too!
It is sad to think that these cousins, who are so close in age, live so very far apart. I know that they will always treasure this visit with Teagan, and look forward to many more to come! It was so hard to see them go, knowing we will not see them again for over a year. In the meantime, we'll treasure these memories we made together, and keep drooling over the adorable pictures Kenzie sends us!
