ARRRRRRR!!!

"Arrrrrr" was a fitting title for Keaton's 4th birthday party, and not just because it was a pirate theme. As evidenced by almost all of the pictures, it pretty much summed up Keaton's mood during the party.

Poor guy, I guess you could say he got his first taste of the let down you feel when the reality of something you've waited for with excitement and anticipation just doesn't match up to your expectations. And besides, "walking the plank" (walking on a balance beam) is hard work, especially when all the bigger kids do it so effortlessly. Sometimes it's just easier to fall down on the ground and cry.

And who wants to be blindfolded to pin their pirate flag on the treasure map, anyways? When you're blindfolded, you can't see. How are you supposed to get your flag on the "X" that marks the spot with a stinkin' blindfold on?

Alas, there was some fun to be had. Everyone got to paint their own pirate ship. And the kids got to go on a treasure hunt to find the treasure: a "treasure map" birthday cake. (At least the other kids--Delaney, Addison, Payden, Lexi and Porter--had a blast.) As for Keaton, he had a great time taking his aggression out on the poor pirate pinata. Life's rough when you're four!
